The Supermarket Street Sweep (aka “SMSW” or “The Sweep”) is an annual bike race that benefits the Food Bank. On Saturday, December 10, – RAIN OR SHINE – it’s happening again!
The goal – 350,000 meals
Since 2005, hundreds of participants have zipped around the city to local supermarkets and brought back thousands of pounds of food to donate to this wonderful charity. To date, Sweepers have raised 87,077 pounds of food and $104,096, which helped the SF-Marin Food Bank provide approximately 330,880 meals to neighbors in need. The race starts at Cupid Span’s (Bow & Arrow) at Folsom and Embarcadero and ends at the SF-Marin Food Bank. Interested?
