From food drives to house parties, poetry slams to music jams, committed individuals and groups are coming together to benefit the Food Bank and help feed hungry neighbors in our community. Find out how you can host an event.

  • The Starfish Throwers Screening

    The Starfish Throwers is the story of three individuals working to make a difference in the lives of others, to work toward ending hunger their communities—people who started with small acts of kindness that rippled into ever widening positive change. 

    Following the screening a Food Bank representative will speak on a panel discussion about how our work relates to the film with a clear call to action for how audience members could get involved locally.

  • Eat Drink SF Presents: The Chronicle’s Top 100 Class of 2014

    Join Eat Drink SF and the San Francisco Chronicle for a celebration of the newcomers to their iconic Top 100. Selected by the food editors at the Chronicle, this incredible line up of chefs, including Andrew Cain (Santé), Michael Chiarello (Coqueta), Nico Delaroque (Nico), Tyler Florence (Wayfare Tavern), Shotaro Kamio (Iyasare), Jennifer Puccio (The Cavalier), and Jared Rodgers (Picco) will prepare a five-course meal with beverage pairings. Guests will begin the evening with a cocktail reception of passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails. All net proceeds will benefit the SF-Marin Food Bank. Ticket price is inclusive of tax and service.

  • One Bottle One Meal

    Mollie Stone’s Markets in Marin

    Together Mollie Stone's and the Wild Oats Winery recognize the need to provide meals to local families that desperately need assistance by contributing meals to the SF-Marin Food Bank. Through the "One Bottle One Meal" organization, every bottle of Wild Oats wines purchased at a Mollie Stone's Market in Marin from July through August, a donation will be given to the Food Bank. The result is one meal donated for every bottle sold.

  • SLOW Food for Fast Lives

    SLOW Food for Fast Lives produces savory, not sweet, healthy food bars. Their mission is to create innovative, delicious and nutritious food for people on the go, and they envision a world where being well by eating well is possible for everyone.  

    They launched a crowd-funding initiative with Barnraiser, a community that seeks to ensure that sustainable food and farming become the standard. Through this initiative SLOW Food for Fast Lives are introducing their delicious savory, globally inspired real food bars and supporting the Food Bank’s Nutrition Education Program.

    Ever wondered what it would be like to be an executive chef in one of the nation’s food capitals? Think you can stand the heat of the kitchen? Scala’s Bistro would like to formally invite you to step behind the scenes with their new series of cooking classes, In the Kitchen with Scala’s.

    Guests will arrive and meet Executive Chefs Larry Finn and Kimberly Bugler, who will be giving the guests an exclusive look at a San Francisco icon. Part of the restaurant scene for almost 18 years, Scala’s Bistro is a high-volume restaurant with an artisanal spirit – everything from the bread to the pastas to every sauce on the menu are made in-house.

    Fulfill your dream of being a star chef with the team at Scala’s Bistro. Guests will prepare their own lunch in a professional kitchen, and after the day’s work they will be able to sit down and enjoy the foods of their labor, along with expertly paired wines from the cellar.

    For each ticket sold, $50 will be donated to the SF-Marin Food Bank.

  • Eat Like a Chef, Drink Like a Somm

    Stones Throw has invited top chefs and restaurants in the Bay Area to cook and drink with them, just like they love to eat and drink when they’re out.   And you can join them!

    This social and community-focused dinner will take place every last Monday of the month, and for each event Chef Jason Halverson has invited a top local restaurant, chef and sommelier into his kitchen for an unforgettable evening - all in support of SF-Marin Food Bank.

    Reservations for the dinners will be taken throughout the evening, between 6 pm – 8:45 pm, and will offer the “Eat Like a Chef, Drink Like a Somm” menu only from the guest chef and sommelier. The set menu that evening, created by these special guest chefs and somms, will include favorite dishes, and drinks, they enjoy when they have the night off!
