To support those needing food assistance, the Food Bank has opened a number of pop-up pantries throughout San Francisco and Marin, utilizing volunteer support.
Pop-Up Food Pantries
We have taken the following measures to protect the health of volunteers and participants, and strike a balance between keeping our community safe while also performing the essential service of getting food to those who need it:
Running shifts outdoors.
Requiring volunteers and participants to bring and wear a non-valve mask or facial covering and wear gloves.
Adhering to all sanitizing and cleaning best practices.
Asking participants, staff, and volunteers to keep a sizable distance from one another.
Pre-bagging groceries for participants to minimize contact between participants and volunteers.
Please note: Pop-Up Pantries are a very fluid means of distribution. The length of your shift may vary from week-to-week depending upon participant attendance and other factors. Additionally, we may not have access to any of the facilities including water or restrooms.
